For the past 18 years, Neeni has shared her passion, infectious exuberance and love of West African Drumming and Dance with children of all ages Australia-wide.
If your child has been fortunate enough to have already experienced an Afrobeat for Kids workshop at an Early Learning Centre, Primary or Secondary School you will know first hand that it was an exciting, FUN, and memorable experience for them ...and they probably pestered you to get them a djembe drum of their own!
For the very FIRST TIME Neeni is offering those kids who WANTED MORE a chance to study African drumming after school on Thursdays in Geelong!
Experienced teacher, Neeni Tuti captures the imagination of her young students while inspiring cultural awareness, diversity, team spirit, connection and self-esteem through African drumming and dance. Children will learn traditional African rhythms and movements in a FUN, inclusive, supportive, welcoming and uplifting course.
Sessions will feature:
• Exciting musical games
• Moving to the beat
• Improvisation and jamming
• Call and response
• How to create different sounds on the drum
• Thunderous drum rolls
• Basic rhythms and drum solos
• Counting, pitch and volume control
• Wearing the ‘conductor’s cap’
• Some wild dance moves
• Learning a performance piece

A versatile and respected professional, Janine hails from a diverse background of more than 25 years of formal dance training and performance.
